There are many rituals in Ukrainian culture, and one of the oldest is the wedding ceremony. There are ethnic songs, dances, and the most important attribute is clothes that have consistency. On Culture Night in Enniscorthy, Ukrainian artists, in partnership with Creative Places Enniscorthy, w. ill present a performance that will reveal a part of the ethnic history of the Ukrainian wedding.

Join Joanne for Culture nights Mini Masters session for a craft activity for children aged 8-12. Enjoy a creative afternoon in Enniscorthy library. Create your very own unique wall hanging using all natural materials with inspiration from the great artists of the 20th century. Booking essential.

Art workshop with a twist! Using paint, collage, drawing, sewing, mixed media and more, we are going to create a huge collaborative landscape of Enniscorthy, reimagined! Alongside the iconic landmarks of Vinegar Hill and Enniscorthy Castle, we encourage imaginations to run wild –  add skyscrapers, cottages, swamps, octopus strawberries or alien pikemen!. I’m
This giant creative tapestry will be hung in the main gallery of The Presentation Arts Centre for all to enjoy and be inspired by, and will remain in the main gallery for several weeks..

Presenting a night celebrating the history of Killanne and the surrounding area. The night will include a historical talk on the history of Killanne, John Kelly , 1798 local history and the Rackard Brothers local hurling stars of Wexford’s 1950’s, Video on screen of the recent 1798 reenactment in the village attended by local dignitaries including Bishop Denis Brennan who is a native of Rathnure. Followed by music by Martin Codd and band with guest appearance from Anthony Kearns tenor. 


Enniscorthy Castle will bring history to life for your entire family- meet Norman knights and Irish kings, merchants, designers, and a 1916 soldier – who tell you about their lives and times in Enniscorthy. From the moment you step in the door of the Castle, someone new will greet you as you explore. This is an interactive, take at your own pace, wander through the castle event! Drop in between 4-8pm, free, all ages, children must be accompanied by an adult, no pre-booking required.

The launch event of the inaugural Enniscorthy Arts & Culture Festival takes place at Enniscorthy Castle at 8pm, followed by the premiere of Forbidden Bonds, a short film based on the Normans and Enniscorthy Castle. This will be the first screening of film Forbidden Bonds by Wexford Film Workshop based on the Prendergast Norman family who built Enniscorthy Castle circa 1240 – it is filmed in locations all around Enniscorthy and at Enniscorthy Castle with local actors and re-enactors and is a tale of love, murder, and intrigue.
