Cow House Studios – Residencies – Open Call
In collaboration with Creative Places Enniscorthy, Cow House Studios will host four Wexford-based artists as part of our Open Residency Program this August.
Our Open Residency Program offers artists critically valuable time and space to become immersed, research, and make new work. This residency fosters immersion in the creative process and ensures that momentum gained while working in the studio can be acted upon, helping to make even shorter stays highly productive. Cow House will host one Wexford-based artist each week this August, providing an opportunity for artists from our community here in the Southeast to meet and work alongside a dynamic group of international practitioners.

Following this week-long residency at Cow House, the four selected artists will come together to create an experience with and for the community in Enniscorthy. Cow House Co-Directors Rosie O’Gorman and Frank Abruzzese will lead this engagement alongside Creative Places.
Criteria & Eligibility….
- This opportunity is open to creative practitioners based in County Wexford.
- Cultural practitioners working in any discipline, such as visual artists, theatre-makers, writers, thinkers, choreographers, designers, performers, filmmakers, sculptors, photographers, etc., are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Successful applicants will participate in meetings following the residency to plan an event in collaboration with Creative Places Enniscorthy.

Week 2: August 12th – 18th
Week 3: August 19th – 25th
Week 4: August 26th – September 1st
Residency Award Details:
Cow House Studios provides a private room in our shared accommodation, meals, and twenty-four-hour access to the studio and facilities. Generous individual spaces are provided, and the 343 m2 (3700 ft2) open-plan space contains woodworking tools, a darkroom, and a computer lab. Additionally, we have a large selection of materials readily available that artists may use freely.

Application Guidelines
Submit the following documents in PDF format to info@cowhousestudios.com by Sunday, June 2nd, 2024.
1- Completed application form (Application Form)
2- Recent CV/resume
3- A portfolio (only one pdf file, 10MB maximum). Although there is no maximum number of images that will be accepted, we advise applicants to only submit relevant materials to reduce the size of email submissions. The images should include captions or short descriptions. For videos/films/audio, please provide links to your own website, Vimeo page, YouTube page, etc. Do not attach actual video files.
You will be contacted by a Cow House Studios representative to confirm receipt of your application. Successful applicants will be contacted by Friday, June 14th, 2024.
